In
a recent meeting of the Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue at Parliament
House, the government announced the inclusion of TV and radio fees in
electricity bills. As per the decision, consumers will see a flat fee of Rs. 50
added to their bills, with Rs. 35 designated for PTV and Rs. 15 for radio
charges, effective immediately from July onwards. The move comes after
recommendations from the Senate Committee of Finance and Revenue, with the
Ministry of Finance swiftly implementing the changes.
Additionally, the meeting highlighted the allocation of Rs. 35 billion for subsidized food items at Utility Stores, with Rs. 5 billion specifically for the Prime Minister's Ramazan Relief Package.
On the technology front, the government allocated Rs. 10 billion for the PM's
laptop scheme, and tech companies are now allowed to retain 25 percent of their export earnings.
