Waqar Younis Counters Sourav Ganguly's Claims, Expects Thrilling Pakistan-India Clash in World Cup 2023
Former Pakistani captain, Waqar Younis, has fired back
at recent remarks made by Sourav Ganguly regarding the anticipated
Pakistan-India clash in the upcoming World Cup 2023.
Addressing the media, Younis confidently asserted that the neighboring cricketing giants have been engaging in nail-biting encounters in the shortest format in recent times, making the upcoming match an unpredictable showdown.
Highlighting Pakistan's past performances against India, the ex-pacer pointed out that the Men in Green had emerged victorious in the one-sided T20 World Cup 2021 game and had given India a run for their money in the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
"The matches between India and Pakistan are the biggest in the world. When the scale of the game is that big, no one's comments matter," Younis stated emphatically, brushing off Ganguly's comments.
Earlier, Ganguly had expressed his opinion on the quality of matches between the arch-rivals, mentioning that India had been dominating the encounters with one-sided victories.
However, all eyes are now set on the upcoming mega event on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where both cricket-crazy nations will clash in what promises to be an intense battle on the field.
